Explore the unknown

The Purpose
Students will be asked to "explore the unknown" in their community. This task entails of seeking out different ways to step away from their norm, and expand their knowledge about another aspect of a life someone else might be living.
In this, students will be given a checklist they must complete, with adult signatures for each task. There will be a point system, with points awarded to the students based on the task they complete. Not all tasks have the same point value and the student's goal is to either complete each task or achieve a certain point goal (based on student abilities).
This project is intended for students to be exposed to worlds they would not typically come across without a deliberate attempt. With this new exposure, students will be able to learn about the life and cultures of other group/minority/ethnicity/religion/etc. In the end, students will present the information they found most memorable, or important for others to be aware of, and complete a presentation on those events. They will discuss topics like language, culture, tradition, music, or interactions of the group of interest.
On top of this presentation, students will be tasked with bringing one piece of memorabilia from each event they attended (a recipe for food, a pamphlet, a brochure, a short summary, a video clip, etc.)
